Neha Aggarwal currently serves as Managing Director of Arunachal Pradesh Power Corporation Private Limited (APPCPL). She is a power trading professional with over a decade of experience in business development, strategic execution and stakeholder engagement. The most exciting aspect of her role is operating within an increasingly dynamic power market environment and leveraging trading strategies to create value. “The evolution of India’s electricity markets through market-based mechanisms, real-time markets and growing renewable participation presents both challenges and opportunities. Responding to price signals, managing variability and optimising portfolios through market participation is intellectually stimulating. I find it rewarding to translate market opportunities into reliable, cost-effective power solutions for stakeholders”, she says.
Her management style is collaborative, transparent and performance-driven. She believes in empowering teams through clear mandates and accountability, while fostering analytical thinking and informed decision-making. In the fast-paced power trading environment, she emphasises agility, risk awareness and continuous learning, with a strong focus on building capable teams that can respond swiftly to evolving market signals.
She highlights that India’s renewable energy growth hinges on deepening market-based mechanisms, recognising storage and flexible resources, ensuring predictable transmission and open access, strengthening payment security and leveraging digital, transparent market operations to build a resilient, investor-confident clean energy ecosystem.
“Outside of work, I am a fitness enthusiast and yoga practitioner, with a strong belief in physical and mental well-being. Regular fitness routines and yoga help me maintain focus, discipline and balance in a high-pressure professional environment. I also enjoy reading, tracking global power market developments and spending quality time with my family”, she says.
Looking ahead, she aims to contribute to the continued maturation of India’s power markets by supporting transparent, efficient and resilient trading mechanisms. “I am keen to strengthen market participation, integrate renewables through trading-led solutions, and mentor young professionals to build a strong talent pipeline for the power trading and electricity markets domain”, she says.
