WindForce has secured a letter of award (LoA) from the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to set up 12 standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) projects aggregating 120 MW/480 MWh under a build, own and operate model. The projects are part of Sri Lanka’s first grid-scale standalone battery energy storage initiative aimed at improving grid stability and enabling higher renewable energy integration. The project portfolio entails an investment of LKR 20.79 billion and will operate under a 15-year contract period. Financing is expected to follow an 80:20 debt-to-equity structure.
