NTPC Limited and Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Limited (GMDC) have signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) to explore strategic collaboration in coal and lignite utilisation. The first MoU provides for partnership to utilise coal from GMDC’s coal blocks for power generation at NTPC’s existing and upcoming power stations. The second MoU covers exploration of coal and lignite gasification and downstream commercialisation opportunities, including pilot projects and syngas utilisation. The collaboration is aimed at supporting domestic resource utilisation and strengthening energy security.
