The AM Group has commenced the development of its mega AI project in Uttar Pradesh. AM AI Labs, an affiliate of the AM Group, was issued a letter of intent by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority towards the allocation of land parcels to establish the first two phases, comprising 150 MW and 200 MW, respectively, of the cumulative 1 GW AI and high-performance computing data centre. The initiative targets 350 MW of operational capacity by 2028 and a full 1 GW of capacity by 2030. This entails a $25 billion investment and the deployment of around 500,000 latest-generation high-performance chips. The data centre will combine owned carbon-free power from renewables and pumped storage, a complete software stack and flexible AI consumption models – from pods-as-a-service to tokens-as-a-service.
