The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bhubaneswar, has released a study assessing the power distribution performance of TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL) over five years following distribution sector reforms. The study reviewed changes in network reliability, operational efficiency, technology adoption and customer service delivery, based on field inspections, validation of system data and a review of operational and consumer service practices across urban and rural areas. On efficiency, the study recorded a decline in aggregate technical and commercial losses from around 30 per cent at the start of the reform period to 18.94 per cent in 2024-25.
