Maharashtra spends Rs 248.89 billion on renewable energy in 2025-26

Maharashtra has spent Rs 248.89 billion on renewable energy in 2025-26 accounting for 9.8 per cent of the state’s total expenditure.

The spending is aimed at supporting the state’s push to significantly increase the share of renewable energy by 2030. The Maharashtra Energy Development Agency, the nodal agency for renewable energy promotion in the state had accredited 371 renewable energy projects with a cumulative capacity of 1,182.02 MW under the renewable energy certification mechanism.
