Reportedly, ABCI Infrastructure Private Limited has secured CESC Limited’s 40 MW/80 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) project at the New Cossipore Generating Station in Kolkata.
The project, stated to be the region’s first standalone BESS tender, will be implemented on a build, own, operate and transfer basis, with CESC providing the land as well as charging and power offtake support. The power purchase agreement will have a term of 12 years, while the project is to be commissioned within 18 months, with a further extension of six months allowed.
