Elsewedy Electric has commissioned a 348.6 MWp utility-scale solar photovoltaic project in Saudi Arabia, marking its first such project in the Gulf region.
The El Saad solar farm, located around 85 km east of Riyadh, has received the provisional acceptance certificate and entered the operations and maintenance phase. Implemented by Elsewedy Electric for Power Transmission and Distribution as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for Jinko Power and Al Ghazala Energy Company Limited, the project was delivered in about 16 months. The facility’s entire output has been contracted by the Saudi Power Procurement Company.
