New Era Cleantech Solutions has launched an integrated coal gasification and carbon capture project at Bhadrawati in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra with a planned investment of about Rs 200 billion.
The greenfield project will use domestic coal to produce industrial chemicals and fuels for sectors such as fertilisers, mining, textiles and packaging. In the first phase, the facility is expected to process over 5 million metric tonnes of coal annually and produce ammonia, ammonium nitrate and mono ethylene glycol, with future expansion planned into dimethyl ether, urea, sustainable aviation fuel and ethanol.
