Tata Power subsidiary signs supplementary PPA with GUVNL

Tata Power Company Limited’s subsidiary, Coastal Gujarat Power Limited, has signed a supplementary power purchase agreement (PPA) for the Mundra plant with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL).

Similar agreements are also expected to be signed with discoms in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana. The development follows the temporary suspension of operations at the 4,000 MW Mundra ultra mega power project due to losses arising from the plant’s closure. The coal-based project, located in Kutch, Gujarat, comprises five units of 800 MW each and supplies power to five states.
