The REC Ltd. released the second edition of the Distribution Utility Ranking (DUR) for FY 2024-25 that provides assessment of Indian electricity utilities. The report encompass utilities performance and its operations across six areas including Annual Integrated Rating & Ranking of DISCOMs, Consumer Service Rating of DISCOMs, Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) Compliance, Communication System Metering levels, Demand Side Response and Resource Adequacy Planning.
The report shows improved DISCOM performance driven by reforms, digitalization and greater financial discipline. For instance, Gujarat’s DGVCL has secured top position in DUR report. Hence, the DUR report is likely to facilitate valuable insights to various stakeholders of the power sector to gauge progress on DISCOMs.
