The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) released a report titled transmission plan for integration of over 900 GW non-fossil fuel capacity by 2035-36. The report emphasizes planned addition of 1,37,500 ckm of transmission lines and 8,27,600 MVA under ISTS and Intra-State to support integration of 900 GW of clean energy capacity by 2035-36.
Further, the plan indicates transmission systems required for evacuation of clean energy from renewable-rich states. It serves as a strategic roadmap to ensure that the electricity grid is not only prepared for integration of renewable energy but is also resilient enough to bolster India’s rising economic growth.
