EIB Global has signed a €200 million financing agreement with Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank to support climate action and environmental sustainability projects in Vietnam.
The funding will enable Techcombank to expand lending to private sector green projects in areas such as renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable transport. In addition, EIB Advisory will work with Techcombank to strengthen its climate risk management practices and climate-related disclosures under the Greening Financial Systems programme, funded by Germany and Luxembourg. The initiative is aligned with Vietnam’s Just Energy Transition Partnership and is expected to support greater investment in green infrastructure as the country works towards carbon neutrality by 2050.
