Philippines fast-tracks 1,471 MW of renewable energy capacity

The Philippines is fast-tracking 1,471 MW of new renewable energy capacity from 22 projects scheduled to come online by April 2026. The capacity addition includes 12 solar projects aggregating 1,284 MW, six hydroelectric projects with 48.23 MW, two biomass projects with 38 MW, one wind project with 13.56 MW and a 20 MW integrated renewable energy storage system. The projects form part of a broader programme to accelerate 200 power plants over the next three years in order to strengthen electricity supply.
