SolarWorld Energy has secured a letter of award (LoA) from NTPC Limited for a 50 MW/100 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) package at the Feroze Gandhi Unchahar thermal power station in Uttar Pradesh.
The contract is worth Rs 1.08 billion and is scheduled for completion within 15 months. The project forms part of NTPC’s wider 2.670 GWh BESS programme spanning seven thermal power stations to enhance grid flexibility and support renewable energy integration and strengthening grid stability.
