KETRACO commissions 132 kV Sondu-Homa Bay transmission line in Kenya

Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO) has commissioned the 132 kV Sondu-Homa Bay transmission line in Homa Bay County to strengthen grid capacity in the region.

It is expected to improve connectivity to the South Nyanza region by providing a more direct power supply route, reducing congestion on existing lines, lowering technical losses, and enhancing overall grid stability and reliability. Fully funded by the Kenyan government, the project forms part of broader efforts to strengthen national transmission infrastructure and support regional economic development.
