China commissions a 1,000 MW solar project in Laos

China’s General Nuclear Power Group has commissioned a 1,000 MW photovoltaic project in Laos. The project is located in Oudomxay province, and is expected to generate approximately 1.65 billion kWh of electricity annually. It also involved collaboration with over 70 enterprises from China and Laos, including more than 30 local companies. In addition, the initiative supported capacity building through the establishment of a clean energy standards research institute and training for nearly 100 local engineers.
