EDP has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with a technology company for a 28 MWp solar project in Motoyoshi City, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. The greenfield will be developed by EDP Renewables APAC and is scheduled for commissioning in early 2028. Spread across about 48 hectares, the project will comprise more than 42,000 solar panels and is expected to generate around 33 GWh of electricity annually. The electricity will be supplied to the local grid, while the offtaker will retain the associated environmental attributes.
