Reportedly, Google has secured a power distribution licence for its proposed 1 GW data centre hub in Visakhapatnam after approval by the Andhra Pradesh cabinet.
The licence will allow the company to directly procure and distribute electricity for the facility, making it the first private company to receive such a licence in Andhra Pradesh. The project is estimated at USD 15 billion and is expected to comprise three data centre campuses near Visakhapatnam, including sites at Adavivaram, Tarluvada and Rambilli.
