Naqaa Sustainable Energy LLC is set to develop a 500 MW solar park with government of Botswana to develop a 500 MW solar park with battery energy storage system (BESS) in Maun, in the north-western.
According to the Africa Solar Industry Association, contracts have been signed for the company to undertake the design, financing and operation of the project. The solar and storage complex is expected to operate for at least 25 years and support Botswana’s efforts to reduce dependence on fossil fuel imports and expand electricity access.
