Group Nirmal announces expansion of its aluminium manufacturing capabilities in Odisha

Group Nirmal, a leading manufacturer of steel and aluminium wire products, has announced the expansion of its aluminium manufacturing capabilities at the Khordha facility in Odisha. The company marked a key milestone as the Chief Minister of Odisha virtually performed the groundbreaking ceremony of Unit 4 of Nirmal Wires Private Limited’s manufacturing facility in Khordha.

The company is undertaking a capital expenditure of Rs 1.5 billion to expand its aluminium manufacturing capabilities at the Khordha facility, following formal approval at the 142nd State Level Single Window Clearance Authority meeting. The expansion will add 5,000 tonnes per month to output, enhancing the company’s ability to cater to high-demand sectors such as power transmission, infrastructure and renewable energy.

Spread across 50 acres, the Khordha unit is one of Group Nirmal’s largest facilities, currently producing 60,000 tonnes of aluminium products annually. Equipped with advanced rolling mills, wire drawing lines and rigid stranding lines, the plant enables end-to-end manufacturing from aluminium rods to finished conductors. The expansion will also introduce advanced conductors such as AACSR, ACAR and ACSS.
