KDDI Corporation has signed a virtual power purchase agreement (PPA) with Electric Power Development Limited and J-Wind Co. Limited for the new 8,400 kW Iwaki Futago wind power plant in Yurihonjo City, Akita Prefecture.
The agreement is KDDI’s third virtual PPA with the J-POWER Group for onshore wind power. Under the arrangement, KDDI will procure the environmental value from the project for 20 years from the start of commercial operations, with construction planned in the first half of fiscal 2026 and commercial operations targeted for January 2029.
