ENGIE and Pele Green Energy inaugurate 75 MW solar plant in South Africa

ENGIE South Africa, in partnership with Pele Green Energy, has inaugurated the 75 MW Graspan solar photovoltaic plant in the Northern Cape, South Africa.

The project has been commercially operational since earlier in 2026 and is supplying power to the national grid. The project was developed under South Africa’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme Bid Window Five. Along with ENGIE’s 75 MW Grootspruit solar photovoltaic plant in the Free State, the two projects add 150 MW of clean energy capacity to South Africa’s power system.
