Vietnam Electricity National Power Transmission Corporation, a subsidiary of Vietnam Electricity, has implemented urgent upgrade works at the 220 kV Thanh Cong substation in Hanoi to ensure reliable electricity supply during the 2026 peak summer season. The works have been carried out by Power Transmission Company 1, EVNNPT’s northern transmission subsidiary.
Under the upgrade, two ageing transformers, AT4 and AT5, have been replaced with new 220 kV, 250 MVA units. The substation, commissioned in 2017, has been facing sustained high loads, necessitating capacity augmentation to strengthen supply reliability in Hanoi.
