OETC plans OMR 376 million investment in BESS projects during 2026-30

Oman Electricity Transmission Company has planned to invest around OMR 376 million in battery energy storage system (BESS) projects as part of its 2026-30 capital expenditure programme. The proposed investment forms part of the company’s total planned capex of OMR 1.285 billion for the period, with battery storage accounting for nearly one-third of the total. The projects are aimed at enhancing grid reliability and supporting higher integration of renewable energy sources, particularly solar and wind, in line with Oman Vision 2040.
