Coal India Limited has received a letter of award (LoA) from GRIDCO Limited for setting up a 320 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Odisha.
The project will have a capacity of 80 MW for four hours and will be implemented across two clusters in the state. Cluster 1 will be located at Padampur and Bolangir, with a tariff of Rs 0.304 million per MW per month, while Cluster 2 will cover Bhatli and Basta, with a tariff of Rs 0.305 million per MW per month. The project is expected to be completed within 18 months from the signing of the battery energy storage purchase agreement.
