EDF Renewables has achieved financial closure for a 265 MW solar project in southern Israel under a public-private partnership model.
The project, located near Dimona, will be the country’s largest solar plant and is expected to be completed in about two years. The company will handle design, construction, financing, and operations under a 25-year concession, after which the asset will be transferred to the state. The project was awarded at a record low tariff of below ILS 0.065 per kWh.
