ReNew Energy Global has planned to establish a 6.5 GW solar ingot-wafer manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh at an investment of Rs 42 billion.
The plant will be located in Anakapalli district near Visakhapatnam and is expected to be commissioned within 24 months. The facility will enable backward integration of ReNew’s solar photo voltaic module and cell manufacturing by producing ingots and wafers, critical upstream components in the solar supply chain. The project forms part of the company’s larger Rs 820 billion commitment in the state.
