GE Vernova has secured an order from Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) to supply nine 150 MW pumped storage units for the Upper Sileru hydropower project in Andhra Pradesh.
The project is expected to be completed by 2030 and will be among the largest pumped storage hydropower projects in India. The scope of work includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, and commissioning of the nine vertical Francis reversible units along with control systems. The project is expected to deliver enough electricity equivalent to the annual needs of about three million homes in the country.
