State-utility Vietnam Electricity’s subsidiary, National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), has completed the energisation of shunt capacitors at 16 substations across the Northern region under the ‘Additional installation of 110 kV shunt capacitors on the northern transmission grid in 2026’ project.
The newly commissioned facilities include shunt capacitor installations at the 500 kV Thuong Tin, Tay Hanoi, Dong Anh, Pho Noi, Hiep Hoa and Nho Quan substations, as well as the 220 kV Pho Cao, Vu Thu, Truc Ninh, Hai Duong 2, Vat Cach, Phu Binh, Yen Thuy, Ba Thien, Phu Tho 2 and Bim Son substations. These substations are located across Hanoi and Hai Phong cities, and the provinces of Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, Ninh Binh, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, and Thanh Hoa.
