IndiGrid and AmpereHour Energy have commissioned a 180 MW/360 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) project at a Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation substation in Gujarat.
Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited is the off-taker for the project. The project is India’s largest standalone utility-scale battery energy storage installation and among the largest BESS projects in Asia. With this, Gujarat’s battery storage capacity reaches around 870 MW of projects announced or under development in the state.
