Egypt’s Ministries of Electricity and Finance have signed a protocol agreement with Tahya Misr Holding Company for Investment and Development, part of the state-owned Tahya to finance around 4.75 GW of wind power projects and 4 GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) across the country.
The protocol establishes a financing framework for nearly 4,750 MW of wind power projects in the Gulf of Suez and Red Sea coastal regions, including Ras Shukeir, Jabal al-Jalala, and Zafarana. In addition, the agreement includes standalone BESS projects totalling about 4,000 MWh in South Cairo, Damanhour, and Wadi El Natroun.
