Voltide Solutions and JEM Energy have launched a made-in-India battery energy storage system (BESS)-as-a-service model for commercial and hospitality spaces.
The first system has been deployed at Uru Brewpark in JP Nagar, Bengaluru, replacing a conventional diesel-based backup system under an operational expenditure-led model. In the first month of operations, the system supplied over 2.5 MWh of backup energy during grid disturbances and extreme weather conditions. The deployment also reduced nearly 1,000 litres of diesel consumption, with annual savings estimated at up to Rs 625,000.
