Nepal’s state-owned power utility, Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), has secured forest entry approval for the long-delayed 220 kV Damauli–Bharatpur transmission line associated with the 140 MW Tanahun hydropower project in Nepal. The Division Forest Office granted permission on May 8, 2026, for construction activities within the transmission line’s right-of-way corridor after legal and financial issues related to tree felling and compensation were resolved.
