ADB and Singapore’s EMA renew partnership to support APG development

The Energy Market Authority (EMA) – power and gas regulator of Singapore, and the ADB have renewed their memorandum of understanding (MoU) for another three years to continue supporting cross-border energy projects across the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), including projects exporting electricity to Singapore. Under the renewed agreement, ADB and EMA will collaborate to address key barriers to scaling up renewable energy generation and regional grid interconnector projects in Southeast Asia. Areas of cooperation include improving project bankability, risk mechanisms, allocation, financing and addressing technical complexities associated with subsea cable systems and infrastructure
