British International Investment (BII), the UK’s development finance institution and impact investor, and Danish global fund manager Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) have launched North Star, a $300 million platform aimed at accelerating the development of renewable energy projects in India. BII will invest $150 million in the platform, while the remaining $150 million will be invested by CIP through its Growth Markets Fund II. The platform marks the first investment under British Climate Partners, a GBP 1.1 billion climate finance initiative launched by BII in April 2026 as part of its new five-year strategy.
