SECL and CWC sign MoU to strengthen coal transportation and rail logistics

South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) to strengthen coal transportation and logistics operations.

The two organisations will work together to improve coal evacuation through rail-based logistics solutions. The partnership will cover railway rake provisioning under the General Purpose Wagon Investment Scheme, multimodal transportation, and first-mile and last-mile connectivity. It will also focus on improving coal dispatch efficiency and reducing logistics constraints. In addition, SECL and CWC will explore long-term transportation arrangements and deployment of digital systems for logistics monitoring.
