The governments of Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are planning a 1,450-km cross-border electricity transmission project aimed at strengthening regional power integration and addressing electricity shortages across Central Africa. The project discussions were held during a meeting in Luanda, Angola, between the Angolan president and a delegation led by the DRC’s minister of hydraulic resources and electricity. The delegation also included the head of DRC’s state-owned utility, Société Nationale d’Électricité (SNEL).
