The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has constituted an expert committee to examine requests from net-metering and open access renewable energy projects seeking extension of commissioning timelines beyond May 31, 2026, along with exemption from the approved list of models and manufacturers (ALMM) List-II requirement for solar photovoltaic cells.
The committee will assess applications submitted through a dedicated portal and make project-specific recommendations to MNRE. The ministry has also delegated decision-making powers for projects with a solar capacity of up to 10 MW (AC) to the concerned state or union territory governments, which will constitute their own expert committees to evaluate applications and grant approvals on a case-by-case basis.
