State Grid Jibei Electric Power Company, a subsidiary of State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC), has completed a key construction milestone on the 1,000 kV Datong–Huailai Tianjin South ultra-high voltage alternating current (UHVAC) project, with the successful completion of concentrated crossing and reconstruction works involving several existing extra-high voltage and UHV transmission corridors.
The UHVAC project is a key component of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) and includes the construction of a 770-km D/C line traversing the Yanshan mountains and Haihe river basin in Hebei province, terminating in the Binhai new area of Tianjin city.
