Onward Solar Power has signed a battery energy storage purchase agreement (BESPA) with GRIDCO Limited for the development of 45 MW/180 MWh of standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity in Odisha.
The projects were awarded under the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited’s auction for six standalone BESS projects with a cumulative capacity of 125 MW/500 MWh in Odisha. Onward Solar secured two projects with a combined capacity of 45 MW/180 MWh at a tariff of Rs 375,000 per MW per month. Of the total capacity, 25 MW/100 MWh will be connected to the Narendrapur grid substation and 20 MW/80 MWh to the Tentuli Khunti grid substation. The projects will be developed under the build-own-operate model.
