Centre approves Rs 1.27 billion for EV charging infrastructure in Delhi under PM E-Drive

The central government has approved financial assistance of Rs 1.27 billion under the PM E-Drive scheme for the development of public electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in Delhi.

The Delhi Government has initiated the process of identifying government buildings for installation of charging facilities and is expected to invite bids for setting up and operating the charging stations. Land parcels from agencies such as the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, Delhi Development Authority and New Delhi Municipal Council will also be explored. Delhi aims to establish 32,000 EV charging points by 2028, with a target of adding 8,000 charging points annually.
