Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy (MEWRE) is planning to expand the country’s electricity transmission network through the installation of 31 transformer substations during the current fiscal year 2026-27 ending March 31, 2027.
The programme is aimed at meeting rising electricity demand by strengthening Kuwait’s high voltage and extra-high-voltage transmission networks. The planned expansion is intended to support continued population growth and the development of new residential areas, while enhancing the reliability of the national power system.
