NLC India and CSIR-CECRI sign MoU on critical mineral beneficiation and extraction

NLC India Limited (NLCIL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CSIR-CECRI), Karaikudi, for collaboration in the field of critical and strategic mineral beneficiation and extraction technologies.

Under the agreement, the two organisations will undertake studies on overburden material and mine tailings generated from NLCIL’s Neyveli mines to assess the potential for recovery of rare earth elements and other trace elements. The collaboration will also explore resource recovery opportunities at other NLCIL mining and exploration projects, with the objective of developing sustainable and economically viable technologies for extracting critical minerals from secondary sources.
