Tata Power receives LoI for Ryapte transmission project from RECPDCL

Tata Power Company Limited has received a letter of intent (LoI) from REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL) for the acquisition of Ryapte Power Transmission Limited, the project special purpose vehicle (SPV). The project will be developed on a build, own, operate and transfer basis and will provide transmission services for 35 years. The annual transmission charges for the project are Rs 5.21 billion.

Scheduled for commissioning within 30 months from the transfer of the SPV, the project involves the construction of around 250 km of 400 kV and 220 kV double-circuit transmission lines and 220 kV underground cable links in Karnataka. It also includes the establishment of two greenfield substations, a 400/220 kV air-insulated substation at Ryapte in Tumkur and a 400/220 kV gas-insulated substation at Doddathaggalli in Hoskote.
