Egypt explores energy cooperation with Chinese companies

Egypt’s Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy has held discussions with China Energy Engineering Corporation and the China Electric Power Planning and Engineering Institute (EPPEI) on cooperation in renewable energy integration, grid flexibility, energy storage, and electricity network modernisation.

The parties reviewed existing and potential areas for collaboration, focusing on the integration of large-scale renewable energy generation into Egypt’s electricity system. The discussions explored opportunities for technical cooperation to enhance the flexibility and capacity of Egypt’s transmission network, including strengthening key transmission corridors, deploying advanced control systems, and integrating energy storage technologies.
