IRCON International Limited, in a joint venture with Badri Rai & Company in a 26:74 shareholding ratio, has secured a works contract worth Rs 7.63 billion from Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) for Package-A of the Agartala Smart Grid project.
The project involves the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of underground high tension and low tension power cable networks in the Agartala municipal area. It also includes the deployment of smart grid applications such as supervisory control and data acquisition, advanced distribution management system, outage management system, and GIS mapping and integration. In addition, the scope covers the establishment of an underground optical fibre communication network and integration with third-party IT systems. It also includes the setting up of main and backup smart grid control centres with distribution network automation, along with operation and maintenance of the system. The project is scheduled to be completed within 24 months.
