SGCC and CSG complete 500 kV grid projects in Jiangsu and Guizhou, China

State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Limited, the Jiangsu subsidiary of State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC), has completed the expansion of the 500 kV Gaoyou substation in Yangzhou city, Jiangsu province, marking the completion of all key 500 kV projects planned to strengthen the province’s electricity supply ahead of the summer peak demand season.

The final phase was commissioned in June 2025, with the expansion of the 500 kV Gaoyou substation, including a new 1,000 MVA transformer that increased total transformation capacity from 3,000 MVA to 4,000 MVA to support rising demand in the northern Yangzhou–Taizhou power grid.
