The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), the state-owned transmission utility has handed over the control room building extension housing the supervisory control and data acquisition/energy management system at the 330 kV Gwagwalada transmission substation in Abuja, to the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO), as an interim National Control Centre (NCC).
The facility houses the newly installed SCADA/EMS and telecommunications systems and will serve as NISO’s temporary operational base until the permanent NCC at Gwagwalada is commissioned.
