Sudhir Kumar Srivastav Director (Commercial) and Director (Technical) (Additional Charge), MPMKVVCL

Sudhir Kumar Srivastav is director (commercial) at M.P. Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Limited (MPMKVVCL), a position he has held since December 2022. Since October 2025, he has also been holding the additional charge of director (technical). In his current role, he oversees a wide range of functions, including commercial operations, procurement, regulatory affairs, vigilance, information technology and operational technology (IT/OT), operations and maintenance, projects, planning, civil works, quality control management, and compliance.

Srivastav began his career with NTPC, where he worked for 15 years. He subsequently served as an adviser and consultant to Kanpur Electricity Supply Company Limited and Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited for five years under the Ministry of Power (MoP), Government of India. Thereafter, he spent 12 years at the Power Finance Corporation, contributing to the implementation of R-APDRP and IPDS.

Among his notable achievements is his contribution to the financial turnaround of MPMKVVCL. He has also led initiatives aimed at optimising load management, reducing system overloading through meticulous planning, and improving network performance through capacitor bank installations, which helped reduce feeder currents, improve power factor, lower technical losses, enhance tail-end voltage and strengthen network stability.

On the current state of the power sector, Srivastav believes that the sector must make sustained efforts towards delivering corruption-free and transparent services to all sections of society while improving the financial health of utilities to contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat.

According to him, one of the biggest unresolved challenges facing the sector is increasing the number of paying consumers and controlling electricity theft in difficult areas such as Bhind and Morena in Madhya Pradesh.

He describes his management style as leading from the front, setting an example for colleagues and subordinates, promoting corruption-free and economical consumer services, driving financial turnaround, undertaking business process re-engineering, encouraging out-of-the-box thinking, and adapting to changing technologies and business environments.

An electrical engineering graduate with honours, Srivastav also holds a diploma in management. He is an accredited energy auditor certified by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency and has completed numerous professional programmes.
